Wine

This is a dark ruby/purple color. This wine reveals black currant, black cherry, blueberry and spice on the nose.  The smooth, rich, opulent mouthfeel is followed by layers of fruit, toasted oak and a long finish.

Once upon a time there was a heart doctor who was a “closet farmer” at heart.  In the   spring of 1982, longing to fulfill his dreams of cultivating the land, our founder, Dr. Maurice Rawlings, Sr., bought 52 serenly beautiful acres of land in the foothills of Lookout Mountain in the Northwest corner of Georgia.

Looking for a way to make the land productive, he contacted the local Agricultural Extension Service. To his dismay, he discovered that the land was unsuitable for farming. His advisors informed him that the land was only suitable for growing grapes. As Dr. Rawlings had always held a passion for fine wines, he was thrilled to hear that he could have his very own vineyard! He and his family planted the fruitful vines and rest, as they say, is history.

This wine displays a beautiful deep garnet color.  Aromas of ripe blackberries, Ox Heart cherries and ripe plums are laced with a sprinkle of baking spices.  The entry is smooth and silky, bursting with ripe berry/cherry fruit and hints of sweet oak spice.  This medium bodied wine has a delightful fleshiness on the mid pallet with excellent acid balance, and the ripe berry, cherry, and plum flavors follow through to the long graceful, faintly spicy finish.

In this pale straw colored Pinot Gris, intriguing floral aromas mingle with mango, citrus peel, and pear. On the palate this medium bodied wine bursts with tropical flavors of papaya, mango, citrus and lychee with a dash of nectarine. The bright lively mouth feel follows through to a clean tropical fruit and citrus finish.

When Steve Reeder and Dave Matthews first met, they realized they had a few things in common, like a passion for making wine at least as strong as their passion for drinking it. For The Dreaming Tree wines, they set out to create an approachable Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Red Blend, finding inspiration in the down-to-earth characters and unforgettable flavors that give California’s wine country its rare charm.

Crush Red Wine is a blend of the North Coast’s finest varieties, 67% Merlot and 33% Zinfandel. This wine pulls you in with a smoky berry note and then jumps up with a raspberry jam.
